Hello Renee! It’s been a while since I’ve sent an update on Shakespeare and a lot has changed! Shakespeare has been trained and is now a service dog! He is my personal multipurpose service dog trained in several different tasks to help me navigate life.
When deciding to get a service dog I debated getting a puppy to train, but the trainer at the time I was working with believed that Shakespeare have what it takes to be a successful service dog partner. He already had a Headstart on training because he had all of his basic obedience down along with on an off leash, so it was really just focusing on him learning tasks. He is for public access right now, and his favorite store to go into his probably target, just like his mama! He is a perfect size dog sitting at 65lbs and is oh so handsome. No matter where we go we always get oos and ahhhs on how attractive of a dog he is! He is an extremely good boy who is the sweetest dog I’ve ever had.
When he’s not working with me, he’s usually out lounging with his other two doodle brothers. Him being the old man he is (5 years old) he prefers to be taking a nap while the others play. He still is always down for a walk or a hike though, and loves to go swimming.
I would encourage anyone who’s considering getting a doodle to get a pierce schnoodle! They make the sweetest dogs you’ll find!
Attached are some recent photos of Shakespeare. Also you can find him on Instagram at shakestheschoodle.
Thank you again for the best boy ever!!
Hope groff (and family)
